Is it logical to attribute an increase in % CaCO3 of soil under rain-fed agriculture (comparing to soil under native forest and soil under irrigated agriculture) to the spread of rocks on soil surface and within soil profile as result of the fragmentation could be caused during the friction of the plow with rocks unlike the irrigated land, where farmer always removing rocks from the soil surface.
The calcification is the prime pedogenic process in soils of dry areas like arid and semi-arid climatic zones where soils are generally seen under rainfed agriculture. Therefore soils of these climatic zones are more calcareous than soils of other climates
Owing to proceed of calcification, it is natural to see that arid ,dry and rainfed soils have high calcium carbonate.
