Hello Everyone, I want to calculate pressure drop of shell of shell and tube heat exchanger using bell delaware method but i got a problem. Given that clearance between baffle and shell inside diameter is 3,2 mm and clearance between baffle hole and tube outer diameter is zero (because I want to simulate its model using ansys, so to simplified my case, I'm using zero clearance, or its will have much greater numbe of element). Other known value is :

As : 0.0029

Atb : 0

Asb : 0.0012

AL : 0.0012

Beta 'L : 0.51 (from graphic on AL/As value)

F'L : 1- Beta'L*((Atb+2Asb)/(AL)) : -0.02

Why it gives me negative value, or it's normal because of limitation of bell delaware method ? Thanks
