Looks more like sexism to me than suppression of findings on sex.
However, there are new findings on the gender orgasm gap that now do get attention.
Perhaps you are unaware of Alfred Kinsey's work? His teams spent over 15 years producing statistical data on male and female responsiveness. This work has been ignored by sexologists and the public. Kinsey was explicit about orgasm and concluded that men are many times more responsive than women. Likewise, Shere Hite's research has been ignored because she focused on female masturbation and, like Kinsey, highlighted the role of the clitoris in female sexual response. Ignoring research is not scientific. Research should be accepted or the reasons for rejecting it should be clearly explained. I have found their work to be critical to understanding sexual response. Modern research tends to focus solely on intercourse and women's arousal and orgasm are assumed to occur without any evidence.
