The destruction of pipelines in May manifested itself with periods of 3.5; 7 and 14 days (see our monograph "Fundamentals of neogeodynamics"). This was especially clearly manifested in 1995, 1996, 1997. In the publication of E. Chitinsky (2000), we found information that only in May, the maximum of the linear velocity of the Earth's rotation around the Sun and the sign change of the acceleration of this movement coincide (Chitinsky is engaged in earthquake forecasting). How can this form a maximum of destructive deformations of the Earth's surface? What could be the explanation? In the publication by K. Tretyak et al. (2007) the deformations associated with the rotation of the Earth around its axis and around the Sun are indicated.
I think that earthquakes are influenced but not statiscally correlated by astronomical movements of our planet Earth because geological movements require much more time than astronomical movements, that act only as a periocally modulated force. Think as if it were a forced spring-mass system 1 second period with an internal system with proceses occurring with 1 hour mean time between they. May the external force can start one of those proceses, but surely you can not find any kind of "correlation" between oscilations and internal proceses.

For example, under the influence of astronomical forces, the surface of the Earth rises by several tens of centimeters twice a day. In May, there are deformations that can be found on the Internet. Vertical movements occur with periods of 7 and 14 days with an amplitude of up to 50 cm. During the activation of seismicity in Romania, deformations in southern Ukraine cease. There are also horizontal movements. The amplitude is up to 10 cm. This is fixed by the European permanent geodetic network. Breaks occur in all seasons, but in Vai their number has increased several times.
