I resubmitted a revised manuscript to an Elsevier. After, I got a link for checking the progress of peer review status.
A few days after re-submitting the status showed as follows:
- Reviews completed: 2+
- Review invitations accepted: 2+
- Review invitations sent: 2+
After this, I found that the peer review status shows "Required Review Competed" and then it changes to "Under Review" several times.
Could anyone explains to me Why? Thank you.
It is common for the peer review status of a manuscript to change several times before a final decision is reached by the editor. The fact that the status changed from "Required Reviews Completed" to "Under Review" could mean that the editor has received all reviews from the reviewers and is currently in the process of making a decision on the manuscript. It could mean that the editor has decided to send the manuscript for additional reviews. The status may change back and forth between these statuses as the editor works through the review process and makes a decision on the manuscript. It is important to note that the review process can be a lengthy one, and it may take several rounds of reviews and revisions before a decision is reached.
Don't worry about them. Your work is worthy and if it's not reviewed within an adequate time frame, withdraw and submit to journal that doesn't muck you around like this :)
