I have isolated black aspergilli species from grapes and proceed to fungal identification. The problem is that spores of some A. carbonarius isolates have been changed their color after a series of subcultures in MEA with different formula. Spores turned into green and start to produce sclerotia as well. Has anybody experienced something like this before? Is MEA formula responsible for this or something else might play role? Thank you in advance!

Fungal mycelial growth is experienced in past experiments confirmed that there is a difference in the color and intensity depending on the type of synthetic medium. Please see attached photos!

Is a factor related to the mycelial growth of the basidiomycete is a carbon source, nitrogen source, temperature, pH, C / N rate, vitamins, and inorganic salts. I think this is the optimum conditions vary depending on the fungal species.
