Thanks for your comments. In fact desirable or not the science and biotechnology is heading towards this and is my area of interest. Already my review on the subject is under process, hope it get accepted and i did discuss in that after explaining the technological aspects of molecular medicine. Definitely the intention is not to advocate the negative part of genome editing, just shared this information as was read thru medscape on Chinese editing it for good to save 2 babies to get resistant to HIV.
Ethical oversight must for any kind of intervention and medicine or for that matter any kind of technology.
I am in complete agreement with you on this bio ethical issues and regulatory oversight but as Stephen I. Ternyik has said "nobody watching" is my concern as well. Should that be allowed?who and how will limits be set? Do we actually need that? Yes it has medicinal and non-medical usages but still regulations are required
