The Inauguration of the CIEC Asian Branch and Academic Conference is thematically dedicated to Future of Fertilizer Science in Asia. Fertilization plays an important role in meeting the increasing demand of food for the increasing world population. At the same time the impact of fertilization on food quality, soil fertility, the waste of resources and environment are becoming more and more relevant, not only for farmers and scientists, but also for fertilizer industries, economists and policy makers.
