I observe that in the past 10 years the number of bugs smashed on the windscreen of my car while fast driving appreciably went down and this especially when driving through areas with intensive agriculture: is this another novel indicator for negative changes in our environment caused by intensive agriculture like the increase of wild boars with extension of maize cropping?
Anybody recognized this too?

We don't have wild boars in Australia but we do have kangaroos and crickets (locusts). There may be a correlation between the number of dead kangaroos that are hit by cars and agricultural intensity for sure. Insects on the other hand maybe the diversity but not necessarily abundance, but maybe I am wrong.
