I guess that you are talking about book review article. If so, I suggest four parts:
An introductory part, which should include general (biographic and bibliographic) information about the book, and whether it is a manuscript written by (co)-author(s) or an edited one.
A chapter-by-chapter part, in which a synopsis of each chapter is given to show the contents to the reader who is unacquainted with the book.
A critical part, in which the book or the collection of chapters are criticized according to the reviewer's knowledge of the area of the book in question. This part should be considered most important.
A concluding part, in which a summary of the strengths and weaknesses of the book is given, pointing to the book's potential readership (general readership, textbook for students, specialists, etc.).
A book review requires some diplomacy because there is a lot at stake scientifically and financially. So a reviewer should be careful in accepting to write a review.
