I found different researchers writing differently when they are citing others' work. I mean if I use someones (Let's say X et al. [5] work with reference number 5, then is it required to write X et al. [5] multiple times or simply X et al. is enough when I mention it later in the paper.?
Please suggest your view.

Different journals and style guides have different requirements...I think the answer is specific to the journal or style guide specifications.
