I want to simulate a 5 degree of freedom passenger car model ( a 3DoF bicycle model + 2 degrees for longitudinal slip of front and rear tires) with radial tires. This model contains simultaneous braking (or accelerating) and steering. Which model is the best to choose between lots of existing tire models?
Magic Formula or TMeasy should work,
if you can efford the computing power use TMeasy
if the model requests steering manoeuvres I think you need also the degree of freedom concerning with front tyres steering, with consequential slip angles.
Anyway, I suggest, as Markus, Pacejka Magic Formula. If your simulations aim to investigate conditions of low tyre stress you could also evaluate the hypothesis of a linear model, very simple and employable up to 5% of slip ratio
Could you clarify whether your model is for ride or for handling?
If ride then you need tyre vertical stiffness. If handling, then I would use a simplified form of Pacejka's tyre model. This is written up in a book:
