An important part in the activities of scientists in all fields (optics, physics, computer science and etc. ) is a teaching, when you have to stand in front of many students and explain something on the board.
I think that both of you (the scientist who teaches) and your students will feel more comfortable if you have a neat handwriting.
In addition, the efficiency of work very often depends on understanding of handwriting of our colleagues and vise versa.
Since I don't have perfect handwriting I would be happy to get useful tips on this topic.

If this is primarily a teaching question, even if one has poor writing, the best tip I have as an educator is to "say" what you are "writing". If you choose to write content on the board, say it as you write it. Do not rush either. If you do, students will be trying to understand what you wrote later on. Take your time, communicate loud and clear what you're saying, and leave breaks between writing and their writing and talk about what you're communicating. Connect the "breaks" together as you go.
If the writing is the "problem", just slow down.

Another best option is that make them understand by pictorial representation. so that they could imagine concept better than to understand writing. And Try to avoid compressed or small writing and always try to write wide words.
Practise your handwriting to make it readable by others. An unreadable handwriting, i.e. failing to communicate to others, does not serve any purpose.
If you still want to work with your handwriting try the book by Rosemary Sassoon and G.S.E. Briem "Improve Your Handwriting (teach yourself)". This is sensible book. It helped me a bit. However, I do not know how the effects are transferred from paper onto blackboard.
