I want to analyse TV Talk shows which are a platform to convey the anchor person's stance so much so that the guest speaker's turns are interrupted by them hence changing their role of facilitators to something else with the result that the presence of the guest speakers sometimes seems meaningless.I would appreciate if someone suggests which theory or model can be applied?
Maya it is not gender issue at all.It has to be about adjacency pairs ,turn taking and interruptions

You could also read something interesting for your work in my book "Spoken and Written Discourse in Online Interactions. A Multimodal Approach" (Routledge 2031), in chapt. 2 when I apply conversation analysis to video-recorded interactions (TV shows are recordings even though they're not online) and also other models to explain other non verbal resources, siuch as gaze, proxemic, kinesics, etc.

I am doing my research on a TV show and looking at the representation of social actors and find van Leeuwen's Social Actors Framework very much applicable to media 's non-verbal and verbal processes in communication, in the field of CDA.
