Writing a good paper or article considered to be a great effort in order to reach incredible results. Hence, which style do you think is more popular and better to be used? Is it MLA Style, Chicago, or APA Style? AND Why?
I do not think any particular style has an intrinsic advantage. Each journal & publisher chooses one style to use. So it's not a matter of which is better. It's a matter of what is the standard that publishers in your field use. In my field (psychology) virtually everyone uses APA style. But I have also published in some journals that use other styles. I think that you just become comfortable and more skilled at expression in the style that your field uses. After all, the thinking is not style-bound: you form the concepts, and then express them in the style of your field.
There are many different ways of citing resources from your research. The citation style sometimes depends on the academic discipline involved. For example:
APA (American Psychological Association) is used by Education, Psychology, and Sciences
MLA (Modern Language Association) style is used by the Humanities
Chicago/Turabian style is generally used by Business, History, and the Fine Arts
APA (American Psychological Association) is used for technical and scientific works. Each writing style is formatted to make citations for that specific field easier. MLA is more commonly used than APA at the high school level. ... MLA (Modern Language Association) format is used for humanities and literature works. https://www.bibliography.com/mla/apa-vs-mla-citation-page/
APA style is used for technical&scientific work while MLA system is used for humanities&literature work.It doesn’t matter which style u follow, the most important thing u follow the guidelines.
You have raised a very interesting question. Thank you for that.
No one particular style of referencing is popular. Its selection is most of the time the result of the comfort of the author or the policy of the journal, in which the paper has to be published.
