I am seeking to run a small pilot study in anticipation of an eventual full trial to demonstrate the accuracy and reliability of our prototype vital signs medical device compared to a leading, comparable monitor.

I am trying to understand what will be the best way to analyse the results of this small pilot - n of 20.

I had thought we should run a test for non-inferiority, because we are claiming that our device is no worse at recording vital signs than an established medical device. But someone suggested I could run a standard analysis to just show that there is no statistically significant difference between the two means.

Which analysis should I run?
