In order to make sample suitable for HPLC analysis, I need to remove pigmented compounds (due to high pretreatment temperature, caramelization of sugars) to determine its acid profile and monomeric sugars content (after hydrolysis with 4% H2SO4). I am using Empore C18-SD cartridge but unable to remove the color. Even tried the sequence of C18-SD followed by SAX cartridge. Hydrolysate probably contains high quantity of lignin content too. Could anyone suggests some method/protocol to resolve this issue?.

Pigmentation which is mostly due to the presence of lignin, will not affect your HPLC analysis. It is generally challenging to separate lignin the sugar. Besides, you run the risk of altering or losing some of your sugars, which might adversely impact you compositional analysis. Good luck.
