I want to know that amongst Anhydrous Ethanol ,Acetone AR ,THF , Toluene , Which is best compatible for Hydrophobic coating based from TEOS and Amino Silane.
You have to use low surface tension solvent. Attached file probably may help you to choose the right solvent.
Ethanol and THF are the solvents most used.

I have some problem to discuss :
When i used Ethanol and stir in an open beaker but certain % of ethanol evaporates and the concentration of the solution changes .I tried covering up the beaker to minimise evaporation but then water condensation develop inside the beaker and those droplets again add up in the solution .Is there any solution to this problem where the amount of output consumables in the system be measured accurately?
Is there a literature for Sol-gel + Fluoro Silane chemistry to achieve contact angle on glass surface more than 160 deg ?
You may do your experiment in the cold chamber (4 degree celsus) or cold room to minimize or may omit the evaporation losses of ethanol.
