Dear Salah, for FACTS devises based on power electronics the best tools are Simplorer and Portunus. The modelling is graphical in three technical languages: electrical network, information flow scheme and state graphs. All three parts of model are synchronised. The computed step size is variable controlled from electrical network part. Nonlinear modelling is suitable with help of imorted measurement data. Simplorer and Portunus are develop for computing, simulation and optimisation of power electronic.
Personally I prefer to model each FACTS devices using MATLAB Programming. PSAT as an open source and free software is also another option, although MATLAB SIMULINK toolbox for academic goals can be helpful because of including some useful schematic examples.
Meanwhile, I recommend you study the following manuscripts in which VSI, and CCVSI are easily modeled and programmed in MATLAB and SIMULINK environment.

If its a Multi-Bus Power System and you want to test any of your controller or any algorithm, then you may use RSCAD software of RTDS Technologies. Its a real-time simulator. It gives us option to model all power electronics based circuits in small time step simulation. The other components can use large time step. Interfacing both the time step models is also not a difficult task.
It uses PB5 processor card and one PB5 card can simulate 144 BUS/Nodes in real time.
Hi dear Shirazul Islam, is the RSCAD available for download as a free of charge software? If it is available for free download, do you know a link to? Thank you so much.
