We are dealing with a thixotropic fluid, with viscosity as high as 5000cp To ease it's flow in the high pressure pump, we are planning to use a pump that can decrease the viscosity to 500cp.
What type of pump can be used for shear thinning of the fluid?

How about using a gear pump (internal/external) which is conveniently used for handling highly viscous fluid like polymer melt?

@Subhashish and AKetan, both the gear pump and Vane pump are used for handling highly viscous fluids. However we are searching for pump that not only handles the viscous fluid, but also reduce its viscosity due to shear thinning.
Instead of low shear pump, we require pumps that provide more shear and reduces the fluid viscosity.
