I am trying to avoid using multiple cuts for the contour method for residual stress measurement because of the huge data analysis that would follow thereafter. So I would like to find out the best plane for cutting. I was thinking of cutting along the plane perpendicular to the building direction. The specimens are built using selective laser melting.
