To reduce nitrate leaching in soil, sorbents would be used to stop them. Now I am beginer in geochemistry and don't know how to do relevant chemical experiments? And which data I need to couple geochemistry model and transport mode. I would appreciate if you could leave your comments
You may require a relation between concentration and time at varying depths. This will allow you to determine how much nitrate has travelled into the soil as a function of time. I am not sure what reaction mechanism you are looking into when the soil comes in contact with the nitrates but if you do, also consider the rate of reduction in concentration in your equation as the reaction proceeds.
The usual approach would be to measure sorption and consequent transport inhibition. The bad news is that nitrate is very weakly sorbed in most soils. Don't waste your time
