Personally, I prefer ICP-MS due to its low detection limit (ppb) and high accuracy. AAS is robust and good for samples with concentrations in the range of ppm. EDX is good for those major elements. Thus, it is depending on your research objective and select the analytical method that could provide the best results. Essentially, you may use all three methods to get a lot of data from your samples. Apart from that you need to analyze soil reference materials to ensure the results from each method is reliable.
