I used to EndNote in the past and my library collapsed multiple times before I was done with a single manuscript writing. I am now using Mendeley for over 2 years and found it great. Mendeley is freely available and gives you opportunities for organization and storage of library both local and online. People are also talking about Zotero and I just wanted to know the differences in features and reliability compared to Mendeley. Anyone with experience on Zotero willing to share some highlights?
Dear Dr Teferra, from my little experience, both are good and reliable. But I just started using zotero and I think if you know how to use it, is very reliable and much better than mendeley.

I personally use EndNote, it's a free software, very easy to use and has a large library to categorize references by project, subject...etc

I'm using Endnote, but all the apps that deal with references are reliable, and you can use it.
I use both. Personally, I like both. But there are many pros and cons for each. Zotero has more source types but Mendeley has a limited number of reference source categories. I am searching for a better reference manager in fact.
Zotero is good for citation and organize the references. I use it more than two years. Easy to use and free.
I agree with Dr Dang T. Nguyen, both softwares are good and easy to use.
Both are powerful in their own right, but lack in different ways. Zotero doesn't have good knowledge management -- the ability to annotate pdfs and review insights. Mendeley is good for basic reference and citation management but the search parameters are stiff and oddly specific.
