I am looking for a proper method to calculate sample size to undertake Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) survey. The questionnaire is based on economic and innovation driven factors at metropolitan spatial level. The study area includes nearly 40 ULBs (urban local bodies).
Any suggestions/ideas are welcome.

Method A is an expert-oriented approach, that is, experts have to be selected to complete the questionnaire. Sampling Type This is a non-probabilistic method that is purposeful. For the appointment of experts, it is enough to consider a certain criterion, for example: 1- People who have a work experience of over 5 or 10 years. 2. Persons at least 30 years of age. 3. Having a master's degree 4. Having sufficient information in the field of research Taking into account the above criteria, for example, in an organization or company, 10 or 15 people are selected, which is enough.

Since AHP is an old technique which is actually complex one and doesn't give the accurate value therefore, i would prefer to use best-worst method which is an accurate expert advice based method. in which pairwise comparison is done to calculate the weight of criteria. I am attaching file to read the Best worst method. Also, if you like this method and to proceed further, i can give you an excel sample sheet and the questionnaire to be asked because i have applied the same for the 4 selection problem and they are accepted soon they will be available online.

If the sample area is very large, it should use a sampling area technique. Select a number of regions that are considered to represent regional prosperity. then do the sampling to be studied
Prerna Mandal I am using AHP too..I am using purposive sampling, with inclusion criteria of construction expert just like Soliman Amini recommended i) experience ii) registered with professional bodies etc..Hope this helps, you can search in current previous study related to your field what are their inclusion criteria.
