Nowadays, there are different methods for preparation of MOFs such as solvothermal/hydrothermal, microwave, ultra-sonication, electrochemical etc. However, if we focus on the surface area, it will vary depending on the type of synthesis we used. So, I am very curious to know how and what kind of synthesis conditions we follow to get highly porous MOFs.

There are lots of parameters that come into play, such as particle size, type of acid, ratio, etc, you will be surprised to know that certain single parameters can affect significantly the surface area, microwave proved to be very successful within the right design and experimental plan ..., if you can explain the type of MOFs you are trying to produce and what is your target?
