The assessment of the embodied water is not a matter of a tool, it is of what kind of data you are using. The tool does the calculation based on the data available. SIMApro offers you several databases which you can edit to better represent what you are trying to model. This is also possible with OpenLCA, which is a freeware software but you need to get the databases or create one for your own project. SIMApro is my software of choice but we are starting to use more and more OpenLCA.

I agree with Edwin Escamilla. What does really matter is the right database for your input data. SimaPro offers several such databases but you often need to use your own data especially in cases where no SimaPro data are available.
I think the same probleb you will face with any other LCA tool.
Open LCA in nice because it is a freeware software and gives you freedom to edit any data you have and create new ones, what is very important to adapt the processes to your region, but probably it will be necessary to buy a database as the other guys said, unless you get some educational license as on Ecoinvent (https://nexus.openlca.org/database/ecoinvent).
SimaPro is a good platform. But you will have to develop your own database specific to your field of study ( common for GaBi and OpenLCA).
OpenLCA has worked effectively for me in all my years of teaching LCM, LCA and LCC. You need to understand your end goal; other applications are equally excellent, but you may not have to spend that extra. As mentioned by others, your desired database is key.
