I read one paper and in the part of Model selection for the detection they considered Random Forest and for prediction they considered Decision tree.
I am wondering to knows each classifiers works for specific tasks, I mean prediction and detection? and which classifiers we can consider for detection or prediction?

Hi, it is hard to determine what is the best machine learning algorithm. It depends on the problem that you are dealing with.
I would say that Random Forest models and their variances (Bagging, Adaboost, among others) usually go pretty well on classification tasks because they use a random voting process in trying to identify the best predictors. However, you will have the performance drawback since the model splits the information into many mini-trees to decide, whereas the Logistic Regression model uses a distance calculation to divide one class from another, which is much more simple and fast.

Following paper used many algorithms for detection and prediction. RF perform better.

In my research, I have found that MLP performs better than RF.

I found a new algorithm for detection， prediction, and classification with the maximum mutual information criterion, which is compatible with maximum likelihood ratio criterion. See

The information criterion must be better than distortion criterion for communication and machine learning in most cases, not alll cases.
