This answer depends on the application you're targeting to. Talking particularly about thermal energy and thermodynamics properties, you can check various "Paraffins" they have high reliability for longer time. With not much change in its properties.
Nanofluis stability depends on may parameters,,,,,, Like base fluid used, particle dispersed, characteristics of particle and fluid, concentration, pH, sonication time and many more,,,,,,,,,,,So as per fluid selection and particle selection you have to decide what kind of method is more suitable to make stable nanofluids.....Either by just sonication or surfactants or by adding some acids
