The solar stove, solar oven or solar cooker might be a strong candidate since it has no operating costs, so its intensive use will make it very efficient long term. FOST Nepal, a Nepalese Foundation for Sustainable Technologies seems to include it among the ones it promotes. I have bought a solar oven myself but after moving to a flat it became difficult to use.
