For a wet granulation pharmaceutical manufacturing process, what is the best to be used as tablet disintegrant: sodium starch glycolate, croscarmellose sodium or crospovidone? Please also provide any scientific researches related to this subject
You have to check the interaction by using DSC , FTIR etc. Then compare the dissolution profile. Then it can be decided which among these three is best to use as disintegrant.
Theoretically Croscarmellose sodium is the best as it is also called superdisintegrant.
However ,experiments should be performed to reconfirm.
Also the pattern of disintegration desired if swelling with disintegration then SSG, if rapid erosion then crospovidone or croscarmellose sodium could be used
