With the receding water table , there has been surmount pressure on developing alternative srategies of regulating irrigation requirement of fruit crops , using a variety of guiding paareeters , starting from pan evaporation , IW/CPE ratio , depletion in available water content , evaporation rate, evapotranspiration rate ( ETc) . Such an overalpping exercises have put extra bit of pressure on researchers as well practitioners , how to regulate irriagtion and how to meet out the irrigation requirement of fruit crops , which takes nearly 270-300 days , right form anthesis to physiological maturity of fruit crops. Keeping this background in mind, let us debate , which is the best method of irrigation and if so, what are those reasons to represent true field conditions.
