If I were to use a clinical isolate of Streptococcus pneumoniae, without any information on the serotype, which antibody should I apply to view S. pneumoniae under the fluorescence microscopy? I understand that the antibodies out there are specific for certain 23 serotypes, or for the serotypes which are included in the vaccine available, etc. I would like to purchase the antibody before I actually perform the serotyping procedure, as the delivery of materials from the supplier to the university may take time.
