There always have been disturbances occurring naturally in these types of ecosystems, but it would be good to know which is being more affected by human interference.
Fresh water ecosystem. The world has been warned of water crisis if nothing is done on the rate at which water bodies are being destroyed. Construction of dams, irrigation plants, fishing with wrong methods, deforestation and degradation, in Ghana we even talk of illegal small scale mining or galamsey. All these threaten the ecosystem. Another thing to note is the existence of fresh waters is linked to other ecosystems like the forest which are also threatened
The amount of freshwater and groundwater is small in comparison to the oceans.
I could not finish earlier, a few more comments. The intensity of human activity seems greater on land in comparison to sea, but the oceans are recipient of pollution from land and sea, and air. All are important as resources of life. It seems that it would be more difficult to disturb oceans, yet if local habitats are disturbed and balance disrupted, it may be more difficult to reverse or mitigate issues concerning the seas.
