I am looking for a simple assay to estimate the before and after amounts of protein (%) for extracted chitin.
If someone can explain the calculation for the related technique, that would be helpful too.
PS. The main issue with assays I am going through for my ROL is that the crab powder is insoluble in quite a few solvents and the other components from the powder or chitin can interfere with absorbance while spectroscopic analysis.
Can e Bradford be used?
As it estimates the total protein content of the sample, will it be able to estimate protein that is in a complex form with chitin?
