There are many journal indexing systems available. Among them, two are getting popularity- 'Science Citation Index Expanded' and 'Emerging Sources Citation Index'. Tell me which one is better ?
I too think 'Science Citation Index Expanded' is better than the other one. The main reason is the response is quick and i feel most of the important referred journals are covered and also they cover non referred journals and conferences also in their coverage. So, only i feel 'Science Citation Index Expanded' is better.
Journals have to undergo a rigorous evaluation process and selection criteria to be included in the SCI-Expanded list.
While, journals in ESCI (Emerging Sources Citation Index) have passed an initial editorial evaluation and can continue to be considered for inclusion in products such as SCI-Expanded, Social Science Citation Index, etc.
Therefore, 'SCI-Expanded' indexing is way better than Emerging Sources Citation indexing.
