Can you please kindly specify/state the IEEE standard which specifies the allowable ripple voltage for the single phase grid connected power electronic systems. In the literature I have usually come around a limit of 2.5-10% of DC link voltage for the allowable voltage ripple.

IEEE 519, not sure if there are more and if IEEE 519 is also for single phase systems.

Mohammad, for Utilities, the limit of Total Harmonic Distortion in Voltage, varies from 3.0% to 1.0% of fundamental frequency, accordinto to the system voltage.
For a single consumer, the limits of Total Current Distortion varies a lot depending on the frequency and relation of short circuit and the maximum demand current. I sugest you consulting the standard already mentioned.
I have gone through the IEEE 519, it does specifies the grid current THD
requirement of less than 5.0%.
My question is specifically for the double line frequency (120 Hz) ripple inherently present in the single phase systems cause of which a DC Link Electrolytic capacitor is employed to reduce the ripple. Is there a specific standard which pertains to this, or does the IEEE 519 also covers this?

Hello Muhammad, your specific case is not covered by IEEE 519. Unfortunatelly I don't know any standard for it. May be you could find something in the specific contract with the local grid company.
