My research work was on the screening of F2 rice progenies for drought tolerance after crossing some Korean lines to African improved drought tolerance in order to provide the genetic information of drought tolerance, grain quality and high yield and the suitable breeding guidelines to further improve this population. Therefore, I made a cross between 3 Korean lines and 6 African drought tolerant varieties using a North Carolina design II mating scheme. Unfortunately due to the little remaining time to complete my MSc project and the difficulty of synchronizing the flowering between some lines, I decided to just screening the F1 along with the parents for drought tolerance and also do a field evaluation of those lines. However, I am planning to continue my project and go to the F2 after my thesis defence. Now, I don’t really know which genetics parameters and suitable analysis I can do in order to have an outstanding thesis since most of the genetics study is in F2.
