I am using Simulink to build a controllable building with a base isolation system.
For that I have to use many earthquake records.
The problem that I am facing is that when I download (first attempt) El centro record from the PEER Database, I found that it's different from the one used in the paper attached.
- Why this difference?
-Which record do I have to use?
The first figure is the el centro record from the PEER database, the second is the record used in the paper.

Do you mean that the second record (second figure) is a corrected record?
if yes where can i have this kind of records?

Hi Djedoui Nassim,
I think you can use any records for your researches, the given earthquake records that you mentioned above were obtained at difference places during ElCentro Earthquake. Do not concern about this. PGA of the first record is about 0.35g and of the second is 0.37g. It depends on your choice.

You check the Array No., station etc. Instrument orientation. You also try to see the source of the record used in earlier study. PEER provides data which are baseline corrected and filtered (Details available in a PEER report by eight/ nine researchers, NGA database like title of report, could not confirm now) . Some other source may also go by the similar corrections and the choice of the parameters for such corrections is not expected to distort the record this much. This two records shall not perhaps yield similar response. Proximity of PGA between the two is not an assurance at all.
