Machine learning and artificial intelligence are interconnected areas, which have dominated together in the near future, despite the advances we have today.

The IoT is a concept that is already in great progress, is reality and something that tends to be common. Today, cars, electronics, electronics, companies, already have the possibility of IoT. IoT is already present every day.

I don't think we can measure what technology has more dominance than the other, in that sense all are important for the advancement of humanity.

I think we need to look at computer science in general, the themes that are suggested are very related. So future >> IoT + Artificial Intelligence + Big Data Analytics

I am not sure if we can pose this question this way. Not only because the ‘term near future’ is under-defined, but mainly because the 'sectors' you identified are just arbitrary representatives of (practically present day) game-changing scientific interest and/or technology development. How about cyber-physical computing/systems, or big data analytics/strategizing, or quantum computing, or biological computing, or etc.? Most of the research strands you mentioned are, in one way or another, elements of what is often referred to as the fifth industrial revolution, or simply as the revolution of intelligence (RoI) nowadays.  What happens under the umbrella of RoI is that the traditional boundaries between the technologies and their exploitation have been dissolving, the nearby past differences among the kinds of systems are gradually diminishing, and the nature of systems is moving from being composable to being compositional. What I wanted to argue about and to point at by mentioning all these things is that the major driver might be cybermatics (that is seen by many as the disruption-causing engine of RoI in the field of complex, intelligent, autonomous and adaptive physical-cyber-human-social systems) - for sure by the end of this century, but it may happen even earlier.

Thanks for providing your valuable remarks and pointing out some important other areas. I would like to add to your points is that humanoids and cybernetics require the area of machines learning to adapt themselves improve their intelligence will be there key revolution.

Locally there has been an increasing interest in Data Science and Big Data, but there is a lack of understanding on the algorithms behind them. Recently I was with in an Enterprise Mining course with 2 other professors and during the exercises there were times we would obtain different results. The algorithms are sensible to the parameters, and that is something that people in business and industry would not understand. Also, you have a series of vendors that lead people to believe that their software will draw valuable conclusions if you just add data (not clean, transformed and pre-processed data, plus a domain understanding, ...). Finally, at the business level, the proposed solutions must consider issues such as implementation (e.g., you can produce a good Neural Net model but it would be very difficult to insert it for scoring in a legacy system), incentive (e.g., if you focus on incentives to bring new customers, then most probably people will not take care on retention), and one of the issues which is usually not considered and sometimes is very rare: common sense. My point, Analytics should take an important role but with a clear vision of organization/business issues/implementation, clear communication skills so people can understand limitations and benefits, and common sense.

Thanks for putting your valuable thoughts. I completely agree with your point that data analytics is a very important domain in business intelligence and related industries.

Still the persons who are involved in carrying out this analytics, they have to use their pre-processing and modeling of their data using some algorithms or tools only.
