There are many summer school programs offered by different universities. Why only few universities are successful? Which are the Key Success Factors for Summer School?

After participating and organizing a number of summer schools, I can suggest the following factors (you can rank them differently for different audiences):
1. Fascinating topic.
2. Good accomodation facilities in a nice place.
3. Excellent food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) available at the same place (near) teaching/accommodation.
4. One-two extremely sympathetic teachers.
5. Moderate diversity of participants regarding knowledge level, working language skills, habits.
6. Affordable price and a number of scholarships awarded by clear criteria.

One of the best schools (not summer, but at the end of Winter) is an IMTA school in Bled organized by Danitsa Purg (CEEMAN).
