I performed different coping style tests on two fish populations (grouped by sex and spawning success). Which tests are the most suitable to demonstrate the consistency of individuals (eg. I want to know if males from population A behave similarly to males from population B in test 1, test 2, etc.)
İf your data have significant differences for variations, you can use covariance test to determination of statistical differences or similarities.
In my opinion, you can use a mixed effect modelling where you can test (and calculate) the effects of your fixed factors (sex and spawning success) and the random effects (individual variation). Depending on how your dependent variable is measured (if the variable is continuous or binomial response) you have to adapt your model. But in any case, a mixed effects model will be more precise and informative.
