As a part of my research work, I need to perform western blotting to detect the MDM2 levels in MCF- 7 cells. For this purpose, I need to purchase the antibody. Can I opt for monoclonal antibody? In that case I have details of 2 monoclonal antibodies. Kindly help me selecting one from these 2.

Details of the antibodies:

1. MDM2 ANTIBODY DETAILS:

Specificity / Sensitivity

MDM2 (D1V2Z) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total MDM2 protein. Based on the sequence of the peptide antigen, this antibody is expected to detect full-length MDM2, as well as isoforms A, C, alpha, F, G, and 11. This antibody may detect isoform A1.

Species Reactivity:

Human

Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Val280 of human MDM2 protein.

2. MDM2 antibody details:

Specificity / Sensitivity

MDM2 (E3G5I) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total MDM2 protein. Based on the sequence of the epitope, this antibody is expected to detect full-length MDM2, as well as isoforms A, C, alpha, F, G, and 11. This antibody may detect isoform A1. This antibody cross-reacts with a band of unknown origin at approximately 60 kDa.

Species Reactivity:

Human, Mouse, Rat

Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with recombinant protein specific to human MDM2 protein. This antibody recognizes an epitope surrounding Val280 of human MDM2 protein.

Major doubt what I'm having with this antibodies is that they recognize an epitope surrounding Val 280 of human protein. If that is the case it is specific only to Val 280 or it can detect other epitopes as well? Please clarify this and if you have any suggestion regarding any other monoclonal antibody that can detect MDM2 in mcf-7 are also welcome.

Thanks in advance.
