I think the best is to give example of your elemental profile of interest. Generally Atomic absorption spectrometeric technique may help. The use of flame photometer or some analytical methods may also help.
AAS as well as ICP-MS both are important techniques for elemental evaluation. I think if you are doing some micro elemental evaluation you can opt AAS and if you are interested in heavy metals in plants you can go for ICP-MS. However, ICP-MS is more precise.
