A paper should answer a succinct and relevant question. You must be able to select, summarise and synthesise the information in your survey to present it coherently. I've just been handed a 60-page survey report and my task is like yours : I have to focus the report on the right questions, make information-rich tables and graphics and cut it down by 90%.
That's our job. That's how science works.
Yeah, as per the guidelines from various experts, an author needs to write with clarity, objectivity, accuracy and brevity, presenting your scientific research in a way that is logical and understandable. I am referring to this link and hope it may help to polish your article technically.
