Graphene oxide and rGO are 2D compounds with the same structure as graphene with some hydroxyl, carboxyl and ether functional groups on their sheets. The number of these functional groups in GO is higher than that of rGO.
Hello Viney Ghai, Depending on the method of construction and the degree of viewing, Graphene oxide and rGO may be considered as 2D or 3D material. In the preparation of Graphene oxide and rGO layers are arranged one above the other at the minimum molecular stable distance. Then we can assume that each layer is 2D of the material, but the amount of layers in height is a real 3D material.
I agree with Emil Hristov Yankov , it depends on the method you have used. But generally, GO is regarded as 2D material which can be tranformed into 3D matrix.
