A weird question, I know as we have millions of sheep here in Australia! I am having trouble though commercially obtaining sheep red blood cells (srbcs) for complement assays. Any ideas of suppliers for srbcs?
Some years ago when I was in need of pig plasma, a local abattoir was happy to provide me with fresh blood samples. Try contacting a local abattoir and take along some bottles with anticoagulant in (think I used citrate) for them to fill up
Hi Christopher, a suggestion would be check around the Veterinary or Primary Industry research facilities in your locality. I am sure there would be someone doing research on sheep who may be able to assist you.
