I have some data that I think should get published. It is not tremendously exciting stuff. It is also not negative results. It represents a small, incremental improvement on an existing technology. I feel like even journals with lower impact factors (1-3) all want to publish papers that are using exciting techniques and potentially groundbreaking research. What are good places to publish a short paper on more common place results?

You need to make a decision about where to publish? test your manuscript to see what other people think of your results, do not judge your results by yourself because at the end of the day other people will give you this route.
