I coordinate an One Health project in a 12,000-ha forest remnant in the Pedra Branca Massif, a locality in the core of the Rio de Janeiro city, Brazil, surrounded by low-income populations. I am quite convinced that this remnant is the largest urban forest in the world. Does someone know one forest remnant larger than 12,000 ha in a highly urbanized region? Thanks in advance.
