The use of nanofluids as heat transfer fluid in the flat plate solar collectors  can increase the heat transfer rate. Using these nanofluids increases the convective heat transfer rates within these solar collectors using a direct process trasformation of solar energy into thermal energy. In this type of problem, we must consider the mixing effects (nanoparticles + H2O) on the optical characteristics and performance of the collector.
